Miss Karen, a longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church, has been the Director of Messiah Lutheran Child Care Center since 1977.  Previously, she was a Title I Language and Math teacher for grades K-4 in Bloomington, Minnesota.  Miss Karen lives in Park Ridge with her husband, Bob, and has three adult children and one granddaughter.  "I truly enjoy my job at Messiah.  My years as director have given me the opportunity to meet and get to know so many incredible children and their supportive families.  I love working each day with my wonderful, creative, dedicated staff. They put forth an amazing amount of energy and enthusiasm each day. It is tremendously rewarding for all of us to watch the young children's growth and maturation.  They become so confident, proud and independent.  It is especially fun when alumni return to Messiah and share their school memories with me. It has been a privilege to be a part of the child care center throughout the years and participate in it's growth and changes."

Miss Janine has been the Office Manager here at Messiah for the past since January of 2005.  She can be found in the office each day ready to answer all your questions and concerns.  When she is not at Messiah, she is at home with her 4 children, ranging in age from 8 to 23 years of age.

"I love my job!!!  Messiah has an amazing atmosphere to work in.  Everyone on the staff always comes to school ready and willing to give their all.  The children are such a blessing.  I love when they come in to say 'hi'.  And the parents-they are nothing short of wonderful.  God is good-all the time!"

Miss Rita has been with Messiah since 2002 as a teacher's assistant and then, in addition, part time librarian and office assistant.  She can now be found in the office 5 days a week as our Bookkeeper/Librarian.

"Messiah is such a joyful place to work.  I welcome the daily visits by the parents and children.  Each day is a blessing."

Miss Diane has managed Messiah's lunch and snack program since 2002. She purchases, prepares and serves snacks for the all the children attending school each morning. At lunchtime, Diane sets up, cleans up and serves lunch to the 40-50 students who attend Messiah's daily lunch program. Lunches are catered by Quality Catering in Lake Villa.

Diane loves to garden and has spent many hours working on the plantings along the east side of our school building. She has received plant donations from many local nurseries (Pesches, Lurveys, Home Depot) as well as from Messiah families, and has developed a festive perennial garden.

Mr. Kurtis joined the Messiah Lutheran Child Care center in september 2009 as the Music Teacher.  He plays the guitar and leads the children in singing songs once a week.  "During the week, I work at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Mount Prospect as one of the Youth Directors.  I work with kids of all ages and I enjoy singing with the Messiah children week to week.  Their energy and love for singing is very contagious."
