Meet our office staff

Miss Karen, a longtime member of Messiah Lutheran Church, is a graduate of Luther College with a B.A. in Elememtary Education.  She has been the Director of Messiah Lutheran Child Care Center since 1977.  Previously, she was a Title I Language and Math teacher for grades K-4 in Bloomington, Minnesota.  Miss Karen lives in Park Ridge with her husband, Bob, and has three adult children and six incredible grandchildren, Grace, Maddie, Tyler, Jack, Olivia and James.

About Messiah: "I truly enjoy my job at Messiah.  My years as director have given me the opportunity to meet and get to know so many incredible children and their supportive families.  I love working each day with my wonderful, creative, dedicated staff. They put forth an amazing amount of energy and enthusiasm each day. It is tremendously rewarding for all of us to watch the young children's growth and maturation.  They become so confident, proud and independent.  It is especially fun when alumni return to Messiah and share their school memories with me. It has been a privilege to be a part of the child care center throughout the years and to participate in it's growth and changes."

Miss Cathy is the Office Manager here at Messiah.  She can be found in the office each day ready to answer all your questions and concerns.  She has been a part of the Messiah staff since 2005.  She began teaching in the Younger 3's program and then was the Lead Teacher in Pre-K 2 Up from 2007-2010.  Miss Cathy lives in Park Ridge with her husband and 4 children.  Before coming to Messiah, Miss Cathy worked in corporate child care and home day care for more than 15 years.  "It is amazing to be able to watch a child's growth, development and love of learning blossom in Messiah's warm and caring environment."

Miss Rita has been at Messiah since 2002, starting as a teacher's assistant and then, moving into the office as part of our school's support team.  She can now be found in the office 5 days a week as our bookkeeper and school librarian.

Rita lives in Edison Park with her husband and 7 year old Goldendoodle.  Her two grown children are former students at Messiah.  During her downtime, Miss Rita enjoys reading and taking long walks.

About Messiah:  "Messiah is such  joyful place to work.  I look forward to going to work every day and enjoy the time spent with the parents and children.  Each day is a blessing."
