Annual Calendar  |   Monthly Calendar  |  Daily Schedule

We offer a play based approach to learning in a Christian environment.  Structured time includes morning prayer, calender, group time, stories, songs and finger plays.  We review the color of the month, shape of the month and letter of the week.  Our classroom is divided into different learning center areas that encourage imagination and exploration.  These centers include reading, sensory, science, math, block building, housekeeping, language, puzzles and fine motor manipulatives.  During non-structured play children may choose which area they would like to play in.  This allows for creative dramatic play and social interaction.  Weekly activities include STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), reading readiness, music and movement, child of the week, mystery bag, Chapel, and visits from Pastor Lynne.  Daily art projects incorporate a large variety of media including play dough, paint, glue, chalk, crayons, markers, cutting and pasting.  Some of our monthly and weekly themes incorporate Bible verses and stories, seasons, holidays, nutrition, families, community, transportation, weather, science, insects, and fairy tales.  These themes may be extended or changed depending on the children’s interest levels.

Miss Diane began working at Messiah in 2019 as an assistant in the Pre K -1 Younger 3’s class.  She lives in Niles with her husband and her son who is in college studying Aviation Administration.  Miss Diane enjoyed working and volunteering in her son’s school when he was younger.  In her free time, Miss Diane loves to travel with her family and take long walks with her friends.  She loves to do art projects with the children, play and laugh with them!
