Pre K-3 up- full and part day class

Messiah’s Pre-K 3  (older 4's) class offers a creative approach to learning in a Christian environment.  Teachers use a variety of themes to plan play-based learning in: 

  • Art (artist of the month) 

  • STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) 

  • Dramatic Play 

  • Music (weekly music class)

  • Literacy (author of the month and letter of the week) 

  • Christian Education 

A few of our favorite themes are: 

  • Tea Party

  • Gingerbread  Making 

  • Blasting Off to Space

  • Construction 

Each day we get physical exercise through: 

  • Playing at our playgrounds

  • Playing games in our large motor room 

  • Creative movement to music

Through all the activities, an emphasis is placed on playing with others, cooperation, and working out problems independently. 

  • Morning snack is provided. 

  • 4 or 5 mornings (9:00 – noon) per week. 

  • ½ or full day extended care available, (6:30am-5:30pm).Children need to be 4-years old by September 1st.

  • Class is held in an upstairs classroom with two teachers.

  • Class size is approximately 16.

  • Daily email communication with parents.

  • Summer programs are available. 

 

We offer a structured, play-based approach to learning in a Christian environment.  We begin each day with a welcome time where we read a Bible story, introduce the day’s activities, and encourage children to participate in a group discussion. Later in the morning we hold a group time that includes counting the calendar, show and tell, reading a story, and dancing.

 Our play (work) time offers inviting learning centers for reading, writing, art, science (including Ipads), math, housekeeping, music, and blocks. Items change in different areas to keep the children exploring and discovering new things. 

Every day we go outside or to the Large Motor Toy room for physical exercise. 

Presented through a variety of themes, the curriculum includes activities in art, math, science, dramatic play, music, and books.  The themes will relate to our letter of the week which will encourage letter sounds for pre-reading.  A few of the favorite themes are our tea party, gingerbread making, blasting off to space, and construction.

All of our preschool classes, as well as our Jr. Kindergarten/Kindergarten class, have Music, Chapel, Pastor visits, and Spanish. Find out more about these special classes.

Meet our teachers

Miss Amanda is the lead teacher in Messiah's Pre K-3 class.  She began as a teaching assistant at Messiah in January 2021 and has worked with Miss Cindy in the Pre K-3 (older 4's) class until Miss Cindy's retirement in June 2022.  Miss Amanda has a long history with Messiah CCC.  She was a student in Messiah's pre school program (years ago) and worked at Messiah as a summer aide when she was attending college.  Messiah CCC is thrilled to have Amanda join as a part of our teaching staff!!
